I have read several tales by this author and without a doubt, this guy can spin a good yarn. He writes about all the elements I enjoy in horror and sci-fi stories, mutant insects, monsters and sea creatures. His pace is fast as he cuts to the chase quickly and does not let his foot off the gas until the very end. I think this story has a lot to do with what is going on in this age. I couldn’t help but to think about the book ‘the secret’ where one gets what he wants by sending out vibes to the universe. In this story, his character ticks off the universe creating a horrific web of events for himself and everybody else. He really isn't a nice guy. The ending is going to knock you on your butt. The story moves at such breaking speed I couldn’t stop reading until I was finished. I found this to be a very entertaining read and I think you will to. You will definitely want to go back and read some of his other books as I’m doing now.

Having served in the U.S. Navy for twelve years as a Boatswain's Mate I couldn't pass this one up. This was a fun horror tale and I enjoyed every gulp of it. I've always loved stories about ships and the sea. Sea stories give you that eerie feeling and the tingling around the back of the neck. Toby Tate's new tale here does just that; it creeps you out. In this book he has created a different type of monster which makes the story very unpredictable coupled with a few surprises as well. I won't tell you what they are, you'll have to read that for yourself. This gripping tale is fast paced, the chapters are short, not too long which makes for very easy reading and plenty of characterization and, oh yeah-- sex. One thing I thought was pretty funny is his main character, Hunter brings his wife on board to help him out. If you want to get your shipmates all kinds of ticked off this is a sure fire way to do it. This tale has all the elements of a good horror read, monsters, blood and sex. You really don't want to miss out on this one.

Here's another guy I came across via IAIN ROB WRIGHT the author of ASBO, FINAL WINTER AND SEA SICK to name a few. This tale is filled with a lot of action, characterization and suspense. He uses the old trapped in the cabin in the middle of nowhere type of setting, which in my opinion is always the best. The dogs are mean and of course vicious, lots of blood and all that good stuff that make horror tales a blast. I enjoyed every bite of it. This guy can pack more action in a novel more than anybody I've ever seen. There is not a dull moment in this book. This book makes Cujo look like a puppy. Definitely a fun read.
