This is the book I'm reading now and I've got to tell you this is a really fun story. This particular one is near and dear to my heart being that I'm an exterminator and this is a tale about big big bugs and oh yeah, a dragon.... very interesting. The premise is pretty simple, a growth potion is spilled which creates the super sized insects. I've just started this one and haven't got to the big bug part yet, but the dragon is sure tearing things up. What a blast! So if you're looking for something with a different flavor, a fast paced tale with loads of pure fun you may want to take a look at this one.

Just finished reading this one a little bit ago. Fast pace, creepy tale about four campers stranded in the middle of nowhere with a killer. I enjoy these kind of stories and to me this type of premise never gets old. Reading this it kind of reminded me of a lighter version of Richard Layman who is the master of these types of tales. So, if you like Layman I think you would like this author as well. I provided a link below for you to check in and have a look around. You will not be disappointed. It was a fun story.

If it wasn't for twitter I would've never found this guy.Amazing what a simple tweet can do He is a Scottish horror writer specializing in pulp type stories. Though the pulps were way before my time I hear a lot about that type of writing and his stories are fantastic. I've recently read several. If you like monsters, aliens and ghosts and such then he is for you.

The creeping kelp below is one of my favorites. Being that I'm a man of the sea, at least I used to be, I found this story very entertaining and I think you will to. Click the link below to enter into his world of the unknown.

Okay, folks Joe Lansdale is at it again with this tale of nature. If you've never read any of him I highly suggest you check him out. I haven't bought this one yet but I will be, I'll guarantee you that. This one is a must for your reading list.. I've read several of his books and he has several short story collections as well. This man's imagination knows no boundaries. If you are just starting out with him I suggest you read the 'DRIVE-IN' where a horror film on the big screen comes to life. His stories are fast paced and full of action. I've added the link below for his latest.

The Ape Man's Brother

Seven Wonders - cover by the awesome Will Staehle

Good news, I have just joined the ANGRY ROBOT ARMY where I will be reading and blogging about several of their books, several of these I have already read, and I can assure you this company produces some really fine reads which are far different from the typical well known publishing companies, you know who those are so I will not get into that. If you have never heard of this company you would do yourself a favor and visit their site, they have a lot to offer.

One book I've read recently is titled CARPANTHIA by Matt Forbeck. Now, if you know anything about the history of the Titanic, the Carpanthia was the rescue ship. But imagine this ship being taken over by vampires. Yes, Vampires were in deed on board and they were feeding on the poor survivors. This book was unlike any other vampire novel I have ever read. In fact my father is always on the lookout to read something 'different' so I said hey, try this one on for size and tell me what you think.  I found it to be fast paced, loaded with action and a lot fun. It was  humorous, spooky and gross all wrapped into one story.

If you are thirsty for a bloody vampire novel you may want to check this one out.
